Welcome back! We hope that you had a lovely summer break!
Our topic to start year 4 is the Romans!! We are excited to learn about the ancient conquerors and to dress up in what they used to wear. We are planning to have a Roman Day in school and to make our own shields too. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Please make sure your child brings a named water bottle and their reading book and record to school every single day.
Our whole school rules are:
1. Be ready
2. Be respectful
3. Be safe
Our PE days this term are a MONDAY and WEDNESDAY. Please make sure that you have the correct kit - Welland P.E tshirt, black trousers/shorts and appropriate outdoor sport footwear.
Homework will be set for the children online via our teams each week on a Friday. The children have log ins in their reading records and we have gone through how they need to log on in class. Any questions please just ask.
In addition to this, we focus on weekly spellings, which we ask pupils to practise alongside doing their homework. Spellings will be tested and new spellings set on Wednesday. Children will also be tested on their times tables on a Tuesday and we ask that they learn these at home as much as possible!
Library books will be changed as often as possible in the classroom. Children can access Accelerated Reader tests which they will need to pass to choose a new book in the classroom daily. They can also access these at home using their Year 4 launchpad. If they take their quiz at home, they can let us know and then change their book at school.
