Year 3 Pakistan
Welcome to Pakistan Class
Class teacher - Miss Brothwell
Teaching Assistant - Mrs Roberts
In English, this term, we will be continuing our approach to writing. The children will be using the writing rainbow to help them to develop their vocabulary and create lots of interesting sentences. We will be working on a book called 'The Stone Age Boy' and writing an adventure story.
In Maths, we will be exploring Number and the value of the digits and addition and subtraction.
In the 1st half of the Autumn term we will be studying the Stone Age to the Iron Age. The key questions that we will be answering are:
Who were the Stone Age people, and how did they live?
What tools did they use in the Stone Age?
Where did they settle?
When was the Bronze Age? Who were the Beaker Folk?
When was the Iron Age? How did Iron change the way people lived?
Please see the knowledge organiser below to discover the key knowledge and vocabulary we will be learning in this topic.
1. Be safe
2. Be ready
3. Be respectful
Pakistan class will have their P.E. on Tuesday and Friday. Swimming will hopefully begin after October half term. Please make sure that your child arrives in school wearing their their full P.E. kit on these days (including footwear). No earrings are allowed during P.E. lessons so if your child can not remove their earrings themselves can you please make sure that they arrive at school with no earrings in on those days, thank you.
Children will need to complete TT Rockstars, Doodle and spellings each week. We are also encouraging children to read at least five times a week. When you hear your child read please sign and date their reading record.
Once again we are encouraging the children to read at home and there are chances to collect house points.
We are starting to use Accelerated Reader, where children will have to complete quizzes based on their books to test what they have read.
We have a new incentive in school they win a prize every ten times they read to an adult. We will monitor this through their reading records.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to talk to one of the Year 3 members of staff regarding homework or reading.
