Year 2 Poland
Welcome to Poland Class
Class teacher – Miss Revill
PE Days: Wednesday and Friday
Please ensure that FULL PE kit is worn to school on a Wednesday and Friday. Children need to have their purple Welland shirt, black shorts or trousers and trainers.
Homework: Homework has changed slightly from last year. Children will need to be regularly reading at home. Children also have log ins for TT Rockstars and Doodle Maths which can also be completed as weekly homework.
Please also check our Poland Class on 'Teams' to see any messages regarding homework and other aspects of Academy life.
Reading: We ask all of our pupils to read every evening with an adult at home. Please ensure that reading records and reading books come into school each day. House points will be given to those children who do this.
Break: Children are able to bring in their own snack for break times. Please ensure your child brings in a healthy snack such as fruit or yoghurt. Alternatively, children are provided with daily fruit.
Water Bottles: Please ensure your child brings in a named water bottle daily, especially in the warmer weather.
Autumn Term 1
For the Autumn Term our topic is Street Detectives! This topic is all about our local area and where we live. We will be learning about geographical features, studying maps and even taking a walk around our local area to see what we can find!
In English this term we will be looking at the books 'The Building Boy' and 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs'. We are going to be using the writing rainbow to focus on key writing features and create our own texts about these books.
In Maths we are focusing on place value. We will be looking at how numbers are represented, adding and subtraction 2 digit numbers, counting in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s and solving problems based on these skills. We will be using a range of resources and equipment to support us.
At the beginning of the year we created our own set of classroom rules. We always follow our rules so we have a safe and happy classroom. We also always follow our three school rules.
