Intent

Our oracy curriculum is designed to foster confident, articulate, and effective communicators among our students. Through a structured and engaging framework, our intent is to cultivate fundamental speaking and listening skills, empowering every child to express themselves with clarity, coherence, and confidence. 

We aim to nurture a supportive environment where children feel encouraged to voice their thoughts, opinions, and ideas while actively listening and respecting others' viewpoints. Our curriculum emphasises the development of essential oracy skills such as active listening, turn-taking, and constructing well-reasoned arguments. 

Our curriculum integrates opportunities for students to engage in discussions, debates, presentations, and collaborative activities that deepen their understanding of various topics and enable the children to use appropriate vocabulary. 

By implementing this oracy curriculum, we aspire to equip our students with the lifelong skills necessary to thrive in both academic and real-world contexts, preparing them to confidently navigate diverse communication scenarios and contribute meaningfully to society.
