Our trip to Hunstanton

This half-term our topic is Beachcombers. We are learning all about the wildlife that lives on or around the beach and the geographical features of land and sea.

We took a lovely trip to the coast in Hunstanton, where we took our shoes and socks off and built some sandcastles on the beach before we walked up to the sealife centre to find out all about sea creatures.

We went into the 'Rockpool room' to learn about the micro-habitats around the coast and the sea creatures that live there.  Jess told us some fascinating facts about starfish and crabs and we even saw some shells that once belonged to some of the creatures living in the aquarium.

After our talk we had our lunch and then spent our time walking around learning all about different creatures including; seahorses, crabs, octopus, seals, turtles and penguins.  The sea turtle was a highlight for all of us especially Miss Astill. We ended our day in the shop and then jumped back on the bus to school.

Well Done to all Year 2 for their brilliant behaviour.
