Welland
Academy

A Pawsome Visitor!

Today, the students in year 6 were visited by Tess a beautifully gentle Staffordshire Bull Terrier to improve the children's writing ideas.

Welland Academy are going to begin using an exciting new scheme of work called 'The Write Stuff' by Jane Considine in their writing lessons this year. To help get their creative juices flowing, we invited Miss Millar's dog Tess into the school so that the students could watch Tess performing tricks and learn a little bit about her. Some students raced with Tess (Tess was faster) and all students laughed and smiled at what Tess was able to do. Year 6 then impressed me with the ambitious vocabulary they were able to generate based on Tess' appearance and personality. It was truly wonderful having Tess in school today and we hope that she comes back to visit again soon! :)
